Sun and Moon story part 5

This is part of a story within a story in my comic. This one is about the origin of the Sun and Moon according to the Mayans. There exists various versions of this tale, and some are just completely different altogether. For my comic I chose to tell a version that is mostly derived from the Kekchi (Q'eqchi') Maya people.

I used bits of other versions of the story and left out some other stuff (both for the sake of plot and limited number of pages). But besides that, it's a pretty accurate retelling. So if anyone's interested in learning about some of their stories check it out!

This is the fifth part where Xbalanque finally marries Xt'actani. I got the image idea from an actual Mayan marriage portrait done on a classic vase. I'll be posting the rest of the story so stay tuned.

Note: For names, the 'x' is pronounced like 'sh' is in the word 'shark'. The apostrophe looking sign is a glottal stop. Its like a brief pause. When it follows a vowel it extends the sound. The vowels are pronounced the same way they would be in Spanish. So the word 'Jun' or 'Hun', which means "one", is pronounced something like this in English: 'Hoon'.
