A Grandmothers Advice

This is a short strip showing a Young spoiled Zapotec Princess being scolded by her Grandmother. The joke at the end refers to a saying about the nobility in Oaxaca during Prehispanic days. It was said that Mixtec noblewomen considered themselves more 'noble' than Zapotec noblewomen. One example is that Zapotec Ladies grinded their own corn while Mixtec Ladies did not. Likely, the Zapotec nobility would have considered the Mixtec nobles to be snobbish, while the Mixtecs would have thought of the Zapotec nobility to be beneath them. The Grandmother is upset that her Grandaughter is taking on Mixtec values while also giving her the old 'back in my days we used to..." speech.
